Microscopy and Non-destructive Material Testing

The fourth annual International Conference of Microscopy and Non-destructive Material Testing is organized by the Faculty of Production Technology and Management, J.E. Purkyně University in Ústí and Labem together with the Institute of Metals and Corrosion Engineering, Prague Institute of Chemical Technology, University of West Bohemia – Faculty of Mechanical Engineering Department of Material Science and Technology, with the company Olympus Czech Group and other workplace Manufacturing Technology and Materials Engineering of the Czech and foreign universities and industry.
At the conference there will also be a meeting of the editorial board of Manufacturing Technology and Strojírenská technologie.
The conference is a social event, which besides its professional lecture part has also part of the culture in the form of experiential program. On the occasion of the fourth edition of the conference is prepared ,, Evening in Sedlec Abbey,, This stylish evening program, featuring a tour of Cathedral of st. John the Baptist - the oldest cathedral in Central Europe and the world-famous ossuary. The program begins at the entrance to the cathedral and the guides dressed in costumes of monks guides visitors through the darkened cathedral for candlelight and interpret their history and legends binding to this amazing cathedral. During the tour is prepared for visitors the tasting of wines from Sedlec reserves of Kutna Hora, singing of Gregorian chant and listen to organ music.
The conference is focused on the use of optical, laser and electron microscopy for materials research, optimization of material properties and analysis of relationships with production technologies. Conference approaches use these methods to solve production and technological problems and new trends and opportunities in these areas. In addition, the conference will deal with using non-destructive testing in the production process for testing and inspection of materials and the research approach and the possibility of using special techniques in practice and research (thermal imager, high-speed camera, x-ray equipment, ultrasound equipment and lines, etc.). The conference will be introduced to a variety of devices and equipment which can become familiar with their use, function, operation, etc.
Individual performance will be mainly focused on these areas:
• use of microscopy, X-ray methods and non-destructive methods of research and solving technological problems,
• electron microscopy and its applications in science, research and optimization of material properties and manufacturing processes,
• optical and laser microscopy and their applications (science, research, applications, optimization of manufacturing processes),
• new trends and equipment in the field of microscopy,
• fractography and its use as a forensic science,
• use of X-ray methods in solving technological and design problems,
• non-destructive testing (devices, applications in science, research and industry),
• special recording technique (high-speed camera, thermal imager, etc..) and its use in research and industry,
• presentation of individual equipment in the field of microscopy and NDT.
In the above-mentioned areas, we look forward to your contributions and presentations.
